Mystik Dan's dream of becoming the 14th horse to win the Triple Crown came to an end at Pimlico Race Course on Saturday, as he finished second to National Treasure in the Preakness Stakes.

National Treasure, a 3-year-old colt trained by Bob Baffert, took the lead early in the race and never looked back, winning by 2 1/2 lengths. Mystik Dan, the Kentucky Derby winner, finished second, while Seize the Grey was third.

Mystik Dan paid $4.20 to place and $2.80 to show. National Treasure paid $3.20 to show.

The victory was Baffert's record-breaking eighth Preakness Stakes win, and it gives him a chance to win the Triple Crown for the second time in his career. National Treasure will now head to the Belmont Stakes on June 9th, where he will attempt to become the 14th horse to win the Triple Crown.
